Living Well Service Day Care
Our Living Well Service Day Care is here for those patients who need more intensive nursing support. It is available each Thursday, from 10am to 3.30pm.
When Day Care patients join our service, they begin by meeting with a key worker to talk about their needs and agree a care plan. As far as possible, we arrange for patients to access all the services they need on the same day eg complementary therapy, counselling, the palliative medicine out-patient clinic.
"It has altered my life... I feel really safe and cared for."
The social aspect of the day is an important part of the service, valued by many of our patients, As well as enjoying informal time together, group activities include Creative Arts in the morning and a programme of light entertainment in the afternoon. Our excellent cook provides a traditional two-course lunch (at a small cost), which patients share in the dining area. Patients say that, by meeting others in similar situations, they find friendship and understanding.
"A day to look forward to, to be cared for by helpful staff, and to be with other people."
For patients who need help getting to and from Blythe House, the volunteer driver service can bring them in the morning and return them home in the afternoon.
