Circle of Friends

Who is the Circle of Friends for?

The Circle of Friends is for anyone who has experienced bereavement and wishes to meet and socialise with others who have similar experiences. This group is particularly popular with older people.

People attending the group enjoy:

  • informal social gatherings with conversation and laughter
  • the companionship of others with similar experience of loss
  • a range of interesting and enjoyable outings.
  • The Circle of Friends is always ready to give a warm welcome to new members. It is a self-running group, supported by facilitators.

What Happens at the Circle of Friends?

Circle of Friends meetings are lively gatherings where everyone can share their news, be it difficult or happy events in their lives. Together members plan and organise an annual programme of talks, events and activities. Some meetings feature invited speakers who cover a wide variety of subjects, and all meetings at Blythe House include a home-made afternoon tea. Other activities include outines to local places of interest, theatre trips and lunches at local pubs and restaurants.

Transport can be arranged if required.
