Counselling & Psychotherapy for families & carers

Anyone with a family member in the Living Well Service can ask for counselling and psychotherapy. This can be arranged by talking with the key worker.

Facing illness in the family

When someone is living with a serious illness, the impact is usually felt by others in the family. Often the whole family is affected. Feelings of helplessness are common. It can be difficult to adjust to a new role, such as the role of carer. Anyone in the family can find it difficult to face an uncertain future and may struggle as they start to anticipate a loss. This is why many family members make use of our counselling and psychotherapy service.
