We may look different but our purpose is the same
Blythe House Hospice provides tailored care to those who are affected by life-limiting illnesses across North Derbyshire.
This year Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen’s Trust collectively celebrate 58 years of providing care and support to our patients. In 2020, we came together as one charity with shared ambitions of improving access to hospice care across North Derbyshire, ensuring our care was of the highest standards, and focusing on what matters most to our patients and their families.
Nearly four years on, we’ve worked hard to meet these ambitions. In addition to the services we provided previously, we now deliver hospice care in people’s homes across the whole of North Derbyshire. We have moved to delivering all care using our own highly trained workforce. We have also extended our care provision with the addition of our Roaming Car service.
A key part of the merger was keeping both charities’ names prominent to retain as much support as possible, but over time it has led to significant confusion, and limited our success in promoting the work we do across North
Derbyshire.
As we strive to meet the needs of our communities, it is important that our name and messaging is clear, simple and fit for the future.
Following extensive consultations with stakeholders and local communities across North Derbyshire, we are pleased to share the next step forward in our purpose – to support, look after and care for every person that needs us.
The hospice will now operate with a trading name of Blythe House Hospice.
Our new identity celebrates our past by keeping the historic colours of both charities and reinforces our future of providing tailored care to patients with life-limiting illness, to best support them and their families when it matters most.
We extend our sincere thanks for being part of our journey to date. Your support is essential to our continued success as we embark on this exciting new chapter as Blythe House Hospice.
