Cultivating Wellness
Gardening support group at Blythe House Hospice
For anyone registered with a North Derbyshire GP who has a life-limiting illness diagnosis.
The sessions offer a welcoming and relaxed environment where participants can enjoy hands-on gardening activities while experiencing the many physical, emotional and social benefits that spending time in nature can bring.
The group runs from 1.30 to 3.30pm on Tuesdays – if you think you’d benefit and like to come along, to find out the next start date, please get in touch: 01298 875 080.
The sessions are facilitated by our Therapy Assistant alongside skilled volunteers. Every week there is a different gardening activity to get involved with whilst enjoying the social aspects of the group.
Research has shown that gardening can help improve physical health, support mental wellbeing, reduce feelings of isolation and provide opportunities to learn new skills and build confidence. The group also offers a chance for patients to connect with others who may be facing similar challenges.
