Growing care in your community – together
Growing care in your community – together
We are calling all green-fingered residents to help bring our communities together to support Blythe House Hospice.
Do you or someone you know have a love and passion for gardening, and have a beautiful garden just waiting to be showcased? Then why not host an Open Garden this summer to support your local hospice!
Hosting an Open Garden is an enjoyable, and inspiring way to help support Blythe House Hospice, so we can continue to grow for the future, and continue in providing vital, high-quality care and support to patients and their families affected by life-limiting illnesses across North Derbyshire.
WHEN do I host my open garden?
The decision is yours, you can choose whenever you would like to host your open garden.
WHERE do I host my open garden?
The purpose of an open garden is for those who wish to use their own garden as an opportunity for members of the public to come and view your garden to raise money for charity.
HOW do I raise money for Blythe House Hospice?
To help raise as much money as possible to support your local hospice, Blythe House Hospice why not charge an entry fee, sell refreshments, and more!
Maggie’s Open Garden:
“I decided to fundraise for Blythe House after the Hospice at Home Team started supporting us with care for my Mum. I want others to be able to benefit from this amazing service which provides free end of life care in the home.”
Why not add more to your Open Garden event, and include activities to help increase the fundraising at your event to support Blythe House Hospice.

This map shows the areas where we provide care across North Derbyshire. We would love to see you opening up your gardens this summer to help support Blythe House Hospice.
Let’s GROW the care in YOUR community together!
Blythe House Hospice only receives 20% of funding from the Government, and so we have to raise the vast majority ourselves through our fundraising activities.
By choosing to support us and helping to raise much-needed funds, you are supporting your local community in the time where people need it most. Blythe House Hospice provide a range of free services across North Derbyshire that support people at all stages of a life-limiting illness, from when someone is diagnosed, right through to when someone may become bereaved, and we support not only the patient, but the family too.
