Schools & Education Settings
Inspiring young minds.
At Blythe House Hospice we believe that care begins with community — and that includes the next generation. We love working with local schools, colleges, youth groups, and community organisations to raise awareness of the hospice care that we provide, promote compassion, and support hospice services for families across the whole of North Derbyshire.
We’re proud to work closely with local schools of all sizes to inspire young people, build community spirit, and raise vital funds to support the hospice care that we provide across North Derbyshire. Whether you’re a headteacher, teacher, parent, or student — we’d love to support your involvement!

Take part in our pre-school events throughout the year.
Our Toddler Toddles take place in June each year, and are aimed specifically at pre-school children. The events provide them with a fun session of exercise in the great outdoors, followed by opportunity to meet the Blythe House Hospice mascot – Blythe Bear! By signing up your nursery and encouraging parents and carers to raise some sponsorship for their child taking part, your nursery is helping to raise vital funds for the services we provide.
If your Nursery has ideas on how you would like to get involved and support Blythe House Hospice, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team, email: fundraising@blythehouse.co.uk
Our team is available for school visits, assemblies, PSHE days and teacher training days.
Alternatively you can arrange for a small group of pupils to visit the hospice – a powerful way to bring learning to life. We have our Talking Tours every month with a great deal of information about all hospice services, volunteering opportunities, fundraising and more!
