A hilly 10k charity run in the prestigious grounds of the Chatsworth estate has made a name for itself as it gets set to commemorate its 15th anniversary.

Our Chatsworth 10k, proudly sponsored by BRM Solicitors, returns on Sunday 17th September 2023.

The event was established in 2008 to raise vital funds to support end of life care for patients across North Derbyshire. Despite a couple of postponements and cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event has become a firm-favourite in the calendars of both professional and amateur runners.

The 10k course starts with a steep incline before plateauing for runners to enjoy the reservoir and woodland scenery on the stately estate. On the final stretch towards the finish line, participants can catch a glimpse of the beautiful house that the Devonshire family has called home for nearly five centuries.

There is also a 3k fun run for families to take part in, or people who may wish to take on a shorter distance run.

Rachael Gee, fundraising and events coordinator at the hospice, said: ‘We are incredibly excited to return to Chatsworth this September for the 15th year of our popular running race. The support from participants is always astounding; we raised over £25,000 for local hospice care during the 2022 event, so we’re very much looking forward to seeing if we can match this total this year!’

Rob Woodhead, Director at BRM Solicitors, commented: ‘‘We have worked with Blythe House and Helen’s Trust for several years, and we are delighted at the opportunity to be the sponsor of the 2023 Chatsworth 10k. The event has become a sporting highlight in the local area, and we look forward to seeing runners tackle the challenging course, and families enjoying the fun run.’

Register to take part in the 10k run before 31st May 2023 to qualify for early bird discount and receive £2 off your entry fee. Entry to the 10k race includes chip-timed results, water on the course, a snack on completion, and a medal.
